I just could not wait one minute longer. No problem, as Rachel's Corner is stocked with these LOCAL FARM GROWN TOMATOES, right now. Technically, I can say that I have not broken my vow, as I did eat one Black Cherry tomato from my garden, yesterday; and it was gorgeous.
If you don't make it to the McCarren Greenmarket of a Saturday, head to Rachel's at 116 Nassau Avenue, corner of Eckford, one block east of McGuinness Boulevard. You'll find three varieties of cherries, Jersey peaches, and whatever else they can source locally.
